La Bouchée

Came here after arriving from the airport and needed somewhere for a comforting meal. La Bouchée satisfied that need and more! We booked in advance just in case which was easy with the online booking system in place and arrived at our scheduled seating time of 7pm. No issues. We were warmly greeted by the staff and impressed by the clean and homely interior. Upon getting seated we were provided with the menu and shortly after ordered drinks. I went for some Pastis and my dining partner had a beer, no complains. We were provided with a small amouse bouche of sorts in the form of cheesy bread bites to whet our appetites. We ordered a starter to share which was the mushroom and egg parfait with ham. They were quick to warn that the dish had ham in which I appreciated as even though is says 'speck' on the menu, many who aren't French speakers may not know this and think the dish is vegetarian! The dish came and were were not disappointed. The bread was practically on tap being cut freshly behind our table. The parfait was excellent with plenty of mushrooms and a semi cooked egg with the bread being the perfect way to scoop it all up. For mains we both ordered the boeuf (beef) which was a simple beef, potatoes and vegetables dish but on steroids. It was beatifically presented and garnished, and not only that, the beef was a melt-in-the-mouth delight, it was incredibly soft and tender, excellently seasoned and went excellently with the soft potato mash and vegetables. Our desserts were the fromage and creme brulee both of which were the perfect way to finish off the meal. My only very minor gripe was that the cheese plate could have had either more quantity or variety but that is very minor and I am not marking down for that as the cheeses were all exceptional.# Overall La Bouchee delivered on quality French dining at a reasonable price so I would highly recommend visiting.

The experience here was fantastic. There was a small problem during the meal. The food was so delicious that I couldn't remember the problem. But they tried to take responsibility for the problem until the end. I can give the best score to the food and service of this restaurant.
